Day 94 of the challenge! Confession time: I've only seen parts of a lot of Hitchcock classics. It's time to remedy that. Thought I'd start with Vertigo, and it was an interesting start to say the least... I can't help but feel like Vertigo is two separate movies (a melodramatic romance and a ghost story thriller) cut into one. Don't get me wrong: I can appreciate how complex the script is and the attention it has to a lot of the story details, but I also feel entire sequences and characters could have been cut out to make it a tighter watch. Everything has a purpose, but it's usually at the expense of pacing. I didn't dislike the movie, but I was disappointed. I guess I was just expecting something else based on the bits I had seen before. On the other hand, Vertigo has some great and powerful cinematography (no surprise there),making it a visual treat!
