Day 125 of the challenge! Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is worth the watch just for the amazing dieselpunk aesthetics! Everything else...not so much. I love gawking over all the many different kinds of "punk" aesthetics, so this one in particular was a visual treat for me, even with it's mostly poor CGI. Sky Captain mostly suffers from a bland and stretched out script that just sort of moves it's characters along from one CG set piece to another. It's got plenty of ideas hinting at an interesting story, but doesn't take full advantage of it's beautifully designed world or quirky characters beyond the action. I feel a few more looks at the script could have really helped. I can see it being fun for kids though, so there's still that.
