Day 42 of the challenge! Shimmer Lake...is confusing. I'm not really sure if it's supposed to be a dark comedy or a forward crime thriller with a lot of awkward and forced comedic moments...Either way, Shimmer Lake isn't one I'd recommend. Move along.
The most frustrating aspect of Shimmer Lake is how it feels like a first draft. There are some interesting events and "characters" (I say that lightly) that could have been fleshed out with some light tweaking. Even the gimmicky reverse chronology used to tell the story isn't enough for me to save the movie.
