Day 43 of the challenge! A little dose of horror with The Ritual, an incredibly creepy and atmospheric horror flick! Think if The Blair Witch Project and The Witch had a baby. Definitely recommend it for people that like some psychological terror to go along with their gore.
Plot wise, The Ritual doesn't reinvent the wheel. A group of friends go to the creepy woods for whatever reason only to end up being haunted/stalked by "insert creature or menace of choice here". Pretty basic stuff , but that's okay. The movie has it where it counts with some character and thematic meat to chew whilst we watch the gang try and make it out alive. On top of that, the film goes in a wild and strange direction I didn't expect, which is always appreciated.
I'd say The Ritual is a must watch for any horror junkie and a good recommendation for any average horror fans looking for a few scares.
