Day 179 of the challenge! I love me some dark comedy, but Observe and Report was a little too much dark...probably. Still hilarious and strangely touching.
Liked:
- Seth Rogen. Duh. The guy's wonderful in everything he does, and he's pretty layered in this one.
- Surprise Anna Faris is always welcomed! I may or may not have a crush on Anna Faris...
- When the comedy and bleak balanced well, Observe and Report was hilarious!
- There's a surprising message about not being ashamed about who you are and doing the best with what you have. Props.
- Films about outsiders wanting to find acceptance usually touch me, and Observe and Report is no different.
- Funny how people are more terrified of nudity than a psycho with a gun in this. I see what you did there Observe and Report.. I see it.
- Saw a comment calling it the "anti-Paul Blart mall cop" movie.
Didn't like:
- Way too dark at times. The balance between the comedy and the darker, more personal moments of self reflection are a bit off. Might just be the way the film was marketed too. I was expecting a more traditional raunchy comedy.
