Day 217 of the challenge! Made it a Pooh Bear weekend! Goodbye Christopher Robin is another great (and dark) biopic about the family behind the silly old bear.
Liked:
Great look at the consequences of creating a cultural phenomenon. For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction? That the saying? Well, it's kind of like that.
As is with most biopics, the acting, set design, wardrobe, etc was all beautifully done.
Reminds you that the most beautiful and wonderful of things can come from a place of hurt and pain. True healing comes from creativity.
Didn't like:
The story glossed over some details I would have liked elaborated on more. For example, we see the negative impact of Christopher Robin's sudden fame as a child, but completely gloss over the impact on his teenage years. We get a short montage and two of the film's most compelling scenes. More of that (and maybe cutting a little away from the childhood years) would have elevated the film for me.
