Day 240 of the challenge! Have a new favorite, because The Edge of Seventeen is amazing!

As far as coming of age stories go, The Edge of Seventeen is a standard. It's unapologetic in it's approach to all it's many themes, including: social anxiety, the reality of maintaining a friendship or relationship, broken people trying (and failing) to heal, traditional family dynamics, and depression (amongst others). The list goes on and on.
Despite dealing with such heavy emotional material, The Edge of Seventeen also takes the time to have fun with it. You'll be laughing your butt off at the absurdity of the moment, then get sucker punched by a sudden dose of real and grounded emotion. It's really hard to balance these two tones and not make it seem real, but The Edge of Seventeen manages both beautifully with it's heart and real characters.
