Day 151 of the challenge! Stand Up Guys has it's moments, but is too inconsistent for it's own good. The one thing you'll no doubt love about the film is it's cast. Pacino? Walken? Arkin? Great! Fantastic! Amazing! What you won't love as much is how inconsistent the movie is tonally. Sometimes it feels like a raunchy comedy with old men, other times like a traditional gangster movie with old men. The inconsistency makes it hard for the story and actors to really find a groove, weakening both tones and the overall film. I wouldn't say Stand Up Guys wastes the great talent involved, but it definitely doesn't do them justice in the slightest.
