Day 301 of the challenge! Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings…what the hell?!? Total franchise killer.
I wasn’t expecting much at all from Pumpkinhead II, but as low as my expectations were, I still felt kind of cheated by the time it ended. It’s what Pet Sematary II is to the original Pet Sematary, and I’m pretty sure they even shared the same burial ground shooting locations.
The characters are cookie cutter as they come (needlessly sadistic, dickhead teens that make no damn sense, creepy expositional witch, an uninteresting hero with no moral dilemma, etc), and the new twist to the Pumpkinhead lore makes it less interesting to me.
It’s a damn shame. The Pumpkinhead series was never allowed to prosper to it’s full potential because of this sequel I’m pretty sure. Goes without saying that I’m not gonna bother with the direct to Scifi Channel Pumpkinhead 3 and 4.
