Day 133 of the challenge! Where was Professor Marston And The Wonder Women during Oscar season? The performances alone should have garnered a few acting nominations! Wonder Women is another incredibly well made biopic, this one depicting the life of Wonder Woman creator Dr. William Marston and the unique relationships he had with his wife Elizabeth Marston and their shared lover Olive Byrne.
Historical inaccuracies aside (there are plenty according to surviving family members) Wonder Women (as a film) stands out from other biopics with how it engages with the feminist themes and taboo subject matter it's character live by and defend throughout it's run-time. This allows Wonder Women to feel very strangely relevant to some current day political movements and discussions, and even connects to the issues plaguing comic book and geek culture as a whole with it's treatment of female characters and fans. All in all, I totally recommend it!
