Day 25 of the challenge! FINALLY got to see Ingrid Goes West! Fate tried it's hardest to keep me away from this movie when it was in theaters. Screw Fate! I finally saw it, and it's GLORIOUS! Like I Don't Feel at Home in this World Anymore, Ingrid hooked me with it's dark humor and situations. It also spoke to my outsider sensibilities a little more than I'd like to admit...
I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Aubrey Plaza is an amazing actress, and Ingrid Goes West is her acting magnum opus! The way she conveys Ingrid's pain and need to be loved and accepted broke my heart and made me laugh all at the same time. This movie isn't afraid to go into some weird, sad (and often hysterical), places. Plus, I really enjoyed O'Shea Jackson Jr's character and all his Batman references. He's the type of dude I can get a beer with.
Ingrid goes West is fantastic. I can't recommend it enough! Fair warning: be ready to pause and cringe at all the hilarious sadness!
Day 25 out, 343 to go....
