Day 148 of the challenge! Making Fun: The Story of Funko is a heartfelt look at why grown men and women still buy toys for themselves. This documentary takes us back to the very humble beginnings of the company (to a garage in 1998 Washington), and breaks down the journey it took to become the licensing juggernaut it is today. Admit it, you have at least one POP! figure or bobble-head on your desk or shelf right?
Funko also takes the time to explore the background of the men and women behind the vinyl, and even some of the more hardcore collectors of their products (quick note, one of them is from El Paso Texas, so that was kind of cool and sureal to see). There are plenty of interviews with 'Funko Funatics" (many of which are celebrities) that are just as devoted and geeky as you might be. Making Fun: The Story of Funko is as insightful as it is enjoyable. I dare you not to smile once throughout it's running time.
