Day 138 of the challenge! Deadpool 2 is just as funny (maybe funnier) and fun as the first Deadpool, but has some lumpy story issues. Without getting into spoiler territory, the driving force in the plot of Deadpool 2 is fueled by one the most cliché and overused character motivations any action movie can make. To make matters worse, it uses this same plot trope twice in the movie. For a character and franchise that lives to make fun of and mock comic book and action movies, I expected more from Deadpool 2 in that sense.
Fortunately, the laughs and "4th wall breaking" is on point! I don't think I went a single minute without at least chuckling throughout it's runtime. It's just that fun! The jokes are designed to elicit laughs from anyone with a wickedly dark sense of humor, but also to be "extra funny" for geeks and fans of other franchises and "geek culture". Easter egg hunters will especially have an amazing time! Bottom line: If you're a fan of the first Deadpool, the comics, or both, you'll love Deadpool 2!
