Day 85 of the challenge! Daybreakers is a great (and super cheesy) sci-fi horror! I can imagine the pitch for this one: "It's Planet of the Apes, but with vampires!" The whole thing feels like an extended episode of The Twilight Zone, so I can't believe it took me so long to actually watch it. As fun as Daybreakers is, it's also kind of dumb. While there is a slight satirical edge to the way the vampire society is portrayed, don't expect some deep insight. This film is for people who get a kick out of over the top exploding vampires and chewy one liners like "We're the folks with the crossbows" or "Welcome back to humanity. Now you get to die." Fans of Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe are also in for a treat since they're arguably the best part of the film.
