Day 170 of the challenge! As colorful and heartwarming as it is, Meet the Robinsons was a bit too chaotic and sappy for me. I don't mean to say that I didn't enjoy the film though. The animation is bright and energetic, the design of the world and characters quirky and fun, there's some great voice acting from it's impressive cast, and a zany plot that that never lets up. My issues main issues come from that despite the film's many eccentric choices, Meet the Robinsons does very little with any of it. We only see this amazing world as landscapes in the distance or as flybys and hardly spend anytime with the more "out there" characters. We're basically introduced to them in a fun montage and then move on. Everything seems more like a texture rather than a full world wroth exploring. All in all, I think there could have been a lot more done on all fronts as far as the story is concerned. Maybe I shouldn't have watched it so shortly after watching The Incredibles 2? Who knows. Either way, Meet the Robinsons is great for VERY young kids and worth some scattered laughs for adults looking for something light.
