Day 308 of the challenge! Was not expecting so much heart from a movie called Manson Family Vacation.
Despite the title, Manson Family Vacation is not a horror movie (I’m trying to cold turkey them for at least 2 weeks before I dive back in). Instead, Manson Family Vacation is a character study about a strange outcast who’s desperately trying to find a place to belong. Different isn’t bad, and you know that’s going to resonate with a lot of people right off the bat.
Manson himself and the Tate and Labianca murders are used to bring a dark edge to the character work, providing a few awkward laughs in the process. It’s a great little indie flick, and I can’t see too many people not enjoying it.
