Day 248 of the challenge! Finally found a romcom I can get behind with Lost In Translation, as sad and melancholic as it is.
This is more along the lines of what I expected Nick and Norah to be. A deep and emotional story about 2 people in Tokyo, surrounded by thousands of people yet alone, finding and connecting with each other. Great romcom premise, and it works perfectly here. Real moody atmosphere, real feeling emotions, all tied together with some incredible performances from Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. As for the humor, it's pretty subdued and situational (highbrow might be another way to describe it maybe?), so while I appreciated and chuckled a few times, don't expect to roll over laughing.
