Day 261 of the challenge! It's a Disaster has some interesting character moments, but isn’t as dark or funny as I had hoped.
I think I may need to watch this one a second time around to really take in what it’s doing. There are enough gags and one liners sprinkled throughout to make you chuckle a few times, but nothing incredibly too dark or witty. Not as dark or witty as some of the other “end of the world” dark comedies I’ve seen. Funny how that’s a genre! Anyway… It pretty much comes off like a 90 minute apocalyptic version of Friends: A bunch of spoiled and entitled people being terrible to each other. I’m just grateful there wasn’t a laugh track. I’ll for sure be revisiting this one…but after the challenge.
